Herbert Municipal Golf Course, originally named Lafayette City Park Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Lafayette, Louisiana.
The course is Lafayette’s original municipal course having first opened for play in 1927. "Ole Muny" as it is traditionally called was the home course for the PGA duo of Jay and Lionel Hebert. The course underwent extensive renovations in 2010 and reopened for play in 2011. All greens and tee areas were completely renovated and updated, lakes were improved and several new bunkers were added.
The course offers mature trees and out-of-bounds stakes lining the fairways and framing the greens. Water hazards are present on a number of holes. The flat terrain is conducive for those who prefer to walk while playing golf.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,426 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,447 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 16, a par-5 that plays to 555 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, a par-3 that plays to 135 yards from the back tees.
